The name of this Japanese Kokeshi Doll is Kaguyahime, which means Shining Princess of the supple bamboo.

In fact, she represents the character of a famous Japanese legend entitled: "The Tale of the Bamboo Cutter".

The Kokeshi wears an elegant Kimono, on which a beautiful Golden Moon is painted.

The Moon is Kaguyahime's country of origin and the place to which she will return.
