Description

This beautiful Kokeshi Doll made by the artist Oki Izumi represents Momotaro,

who is the protagonist of a Japanese folk legend. The translation of his name

is the Peach Boy, since, according to legend, he was found under a peach tree

by an elderly couple, who raised him and made him become a young man brave

enough to defend his village and family, defeating the orcs of Inigashima.

She has won numerous awards including:

1998: "Minister of Education Award"

2013: "Forestry Agency chief Award"

She is a member of the National Association of Creative Kokeshi.
