The Japanese name of this beautiful Kokeshi is Chocho which means Butterfly.
The pretty headband in her hair is decorated with a butterfly red.
Kokeshi wears a Yukata, the traditional summer kimono in cotton,
decorated with red and yellow butterflies.
This Kimono is still used today in the Matsuri (Festival of the Gods),
the typical Japanese spring and summer festivals.
A touch of elegance it is given by the Obi, also decorated with a beautiful butterfly.
The Kokeshi it is entirely hand painted by the artist Oki Izumi.
