Description

The Japanese name of this beautiful Kokeshi is Yuki, which means Snow.

This Kokeshi represents winter: note the white-silver snowflakes engraved,

which decorate the scarf and white kimono.

The Obi belt stands out black color, with red decorations.

The Kokeshi is entirely hand painted by the artist Oki Izumi.

The Artist Oki Izumi was born in 1956 in the city of Shibukawa in the prefecture of Gunma.

She has won numerous awards including:

1998: "Minister of Education Award"

2013: "Forestry Agency chief Award"

She is a member of the National Association of Creative Kokeshi.
